Thank you! - Day 63

We have successfully made it to 9 weeks!  Why does this matter?  9 weeks was the longest time I had seen written anywhere to be worried about Fading Kitten Syndrome (FKS).  While admittedly, I haven't been worried about sudden crashes for a few weeks, this still is an exciting milestone for us.  The little kitten who I refused to name when we first found him has grown into a tiny cat.  Both cats are healthy (though now I'm sick, hah!), and they are getting along well.  I didn't expect to be at this point 9 weeks ago but am so thankful that we've made it here now. This post will be short, but I'll include the required photos and videos from today at the end.  I suggest you look through the  Photos By Day  to go through a few choice photos that shows Phoenix changing over the days.  It's up to date and has a photo for each of the 63 days. For anyone that has been following along, thank you!  This blog has been a fun adventure for me, ...

Cuddly - Days 61 and 62

All is going well here.  Asher seems to be doing better, though I'm still monitoring his litterbox.  Phoenix's appetite has returned (after reading around online, loss of appetite for 24-48 hours after a vaccination is not unusual).  We've been giving him dry food for overnight, and his poop is doing well (if not even better). Phoenix runs around pretty independently during the day.  We keep him in his room at night (my office or his room...?), but otherwise he's out and about doing whatever he wants.  The largest challenge to being completely comfortable with him running around is Asher's litter.  Asher has a clumping litter, and kittens like to eat things.  A bad combination.  After looking it up, it seems that we need to wait until around 4 months to switch to a clumping litter.  Overall, Phoenix seems less interested in the litter these days (I think he's explored it sufficiently now with us watching), but we're still cautious.  He w...

It's the Final Countdown - Days 59 and 60

All is going well.  Phoenix has been vaccinated, has had his flea medication, and had a bit of dry food recently.  Overall, he seems to be doing well!  I'm a little concerned with him seemingly eating less today that would be normal, but I might be imagining it.  I haven't been weighing him as I had in the past, but I think I will over the weekend if it still seems like he's not eating quite as much. There really isn't too much more to say.  He plays, he sleeps, he eats, and he poops.  He's still a little monster, but he brings a smile to so many faces.  It's crazy to think that 8 weeks ago I was waking up multiple times a night hoping that he would wake up and move and be alright.  And now I have so many moments where I wish he would go back to bed to let me finish my work 😂. We are coming close to the end of my blog.  I'll do one post this weekend and a final one at our 9 week mark on Monday.  And then we'll officially be done with ou...
