He Just Keeps Going and Going and Going - Days 52 and 53

All is well.  Phoenix has insane amounts of energy.  He also spends a good amount of time sleeping and napping.  But when he's up, it's go, go, go time.  He sometimes will distract himself for a good amount of time, but other times he wants to follow you everywhere you go.  He's currently playing around Nguyen by running around Nguyen while he sits in his chair. There isn't much new going on, to be honest.  In terms of general health related stuff: His poops have gone back to being formed and healthy looking. I'm continuing his 2x/day dose of metronidazole. He'll go in to see if he can get vaccines on Monday. Asher got his dose of flea meds to help there. My new flea combs have arrived.  Neither of them have turned up any fleas.  Yay. Nguyen is still sick.  Has been for like 3 weeks.  Not COVID though :) So all in all, lots to be thankful for. I'll go ahead and just do a photo and video dump.  There's a few good ones :) Photos The o...

Seeing Improvements - Days 49 to 51

It's been three days, and I have some updates for you.  In general, I'm less worried than I was last week.  Things are looking good overall.  I thought about saving this cover photo for later in this post, but honestly, this was just too fantastic not to put here.  This happened as I was writing this post, and it was just too wonderful not to make the cover photo. Vet Appointment I woke up Monday not feeling well at all.  So I ended up calling in sick for work to give me a day to feel better.  I suppose it worked out - I called the vet right after they opened (8:30am) to figure out what I should do.  We decided to try to schedule an appointment, but the earliest one was on Wednesday.  Right after getting off the phone, I received a phone call back.  An appointment had opened up at 9am, and that gave me 13 minutes to get there. So off Phoenix and I went to the vet since Nguyen wasn't able to take him.  Thankfully it's only 3 minutes there...

Some Relevant Title that I Can't Decide On - Days 47 and 48

We're hitting 7 weeks tomorrow.  It's hard to believe it's almost been 2 months with Phoenix in our lives.  It also means I'm coming onto the last two weeks of my blog.  We're at the tail end of my own adventure into blogging! Poop Problems Our poop issues continue.  I've started adding some pedialyte to Phoenix's food to help with dehydration.  He drinks water fairly regularly as well.  Overall, he seems healthy, but his poop tells another story. I'll call the vet tomorrow and see what they suggest.  At the very least, if I could get some symptoms I should be wary about, then that would make me feel better.  But I think it might be worth getting a fecal analysis as well.  I would have called them this weekend, but our vet isn't open on the weekends.  So I'll call first thing in the morning and see if I can bring him in. On the bright side, dealing with the poop is much easier now.  When he was a kitten, there were accidents almost ...

Kitten Concerns - Days 45 and 46

Phoenix is as energetic as ever.  He runs and jumps and falls.  He eventually sleeps.  Then wakes up to go through it all again.  Overall he's doing alright, but our poop problems have returned. Kitten Concerns Phoenix has been able to poop on his own for a while now.  The poops have largely been formed, so things have been on the upside.  Unfortunately yesterday afternoon, he had a pretty loose stool.  And then shortly after, it was pretty much only liquid coming out for the poor guy. I gave him his dewormer yesterday.  There was a lot more to feed him, but I got most of it in him.  I got some of it on my pants... but the majority of it successfully went into his mouth.  He did fight it for the most part, but we got it down!  It was the next poop after that that came out as liquid. We've also recently introduced some moistened dry food for him.  So this new food could explain the change in his poop.  I'll continue to moni...
